Methodology
MakeMeSane exists to help overwhelmed professionals make clear, confident decisions. This page explains exactly how we evaluate the products and tools we compare.
Evaluation Principles
- Data over opinion. We use structured comparison matrices with consistent units, not subjective sentiment. Every attribute is sourced and dated.
- Evidence labeling. Every factual claim carries a label:
- Verified product data — confirmed on the official product page or pricing page.
- Tested first-hand — personally tested and verified by our team.
- Calculated — derived from sourced data (e.g. annual cost from monthly pricing).
- Company claim — stated by the company, not independently verified.
- User report — from community or user-reported feedback.
- Not independently verified — could not be independently confirmed.
- Commission-blind editorial. Affiliate commission data is never used in rankings, product inclusion, scores, or "best of" lists. Commission rates are excluded from our evaluation criteria, including when the founder oversees both editorial work and commercial relationships.
- Demand-driven comparisons. We only create comparison pages where there is documented search demand, buyer overlap, or genuine decision value. No scaled thin pages.
